so true!!!!!!!! I was active duty from 02 to 06 and Bush kept us fed with nice raises. From what I here now, they have STOPPED giving out bonuses now to servicemen who re-enlist!! I don't know who's to blame but that sucks.

If the US is the envy of the world then how do you explain the fact that its run by insurance companies and the drug firms. Profit oriented and not driven by the betterment of the people. Im glad I dont live in the US cos of the health care system. As is highlighted in the fil Sicko, even Cuba, a much poorer country is able to offer far more to the sick and needy. Its a crime travesty for the American people. I hope for your sakes it improves.

@A4T2M0 When it comes to gdp per capita in 2008, the Bottom 10 states (with the exception of New Mexico, which is sort of a red state) are all red states.

PRO-COMMUNIST SENATOR "HANOI" JOHN KERRY SUPPORTS BRUTAL COMMUNIST VIETNAM BY KILLING VIETNAM HUMAN RIGHTS ACT 2009 (H.R. 1969) IN THE SENATE. He considers dirty money and economic ties with Vietnam much more important than human rights values. Consequently, Vietnam, has waged a new crackdown on democracy activists such as Father Nguyen van Ly and lawyers Nguyen van Dai and Le thi Cong Nhan, who were given unfair, harsh sentences of several years in prison for their democracy activities.

In 2000 Gore would have definately have been the better choice as president(some say Gore actually should have won in Florida) but it was good that Bush won the 04 election. Kerry just wasn't a very good canidate and nobody knew what he was gonna do. And it was STILL a very close race.

I think is really unfair when a political candidates have to downplay their intelligence when debating a less smart person, because if not he or she might look like a snob. That's exactly what happened in this debate. Kerry came across as an elitist, know it all, Massachusetts' liberal, just because he was smarter than W. The Dems learned the lesson in 2008 with the Biden/Palin debate, and thank God, so did Americans!

The Presidential election of 2004 took place just over 3 years after 9/11, when Bush's approval ratings hit 91% and, although they had fallen, they were still at around 52-55% when the election took place. Also, Americans felt Bush had done a great job at protecting the US from terrorist attacks for 3 years. After taking all the good things the Bush administration had done until '04 into consideration, we can conclude that, at the time, the choice Americans made wasn't necessarily wrong.

you are an idiot. Kerry is obviously incapable of any cogent analysis. He had no moral compass and absolutely no ability to protect our country.

I'm sorry but this election was a joke. It was so evident that John Kerry was clearly the more intelligent choice for president in 2004. I don't care how boring or long winded the guy is. He's obviously more intelligent and more articulate than Bush and I want a president that is smarter than me. This election was embarassing. I can't believe people voted for Bush. This is why the whole world laughs at America because of crap like this.

It's the same old liberal formula -- Offer a highly subsidized public option alongside private options. Naturally everyone will go for the govt (free) option. Eventually private insurers will be driven out of business. AND THEN the govt takes assumes control and we end up with a single payer state run monopoly.

Wow, this is the same bullshit that Obama is tossing. "You don't have to take the government option...... except it will be the most competitive option and will drive the private options out of small companies......." Pay attention to the details. That's the hideous truth about the government option. It's a seed.
