they were trying something different. and as one of the actors in the ad said, you don't see any deaf ads ever. it's just nice to be inclusive of all communities and pepsi was the first :)

Yes, you spell it out, especially when you first meet someone. Then if you have a name sign you can tell them that and use it instead of spelling it out all the time.
